		<description>Carolyn - It amazes me that some companies pour hundreds of thousands of dollars (sometimes millions) into their Intranet, but don&#039;t hold it to the same performance metrics as they would a high-paid executive. The key to is measure periodically so the ROI can be established. So many folks ask about the ROI before the spend is ever made (which is just an estimate or projection), yet they fail to go back afterward and establish the true ROI. Maybe they don&#039;t want to know, sometimes ;)

If I had such an under-performing employee, they would be gone and I would be sure to not make the same mistake twice. It&#039;s way too costly for my business to make poor hiring decisions. Odd that many companies still pitch out big dollars for intranet software and then provide no follow-through, coaching, training, or performance measurements and incentives.
